Pluto’s Return is a teen rock band from Somerville, MA that formed in early 2020. Band members include Colin Born (singer/ guitarist), Anthony Sasongko (pianist), Torin Cotter-White (bassist), and Kian Nhuch (drummer) and Sam Silverman (guitarist). The band plays both covers and originals and has performed at Premiere on Broadway, the Burren, Redbones, Sally O’Brien’s, Somerville PorchFests, and festivals include Assembly Row's 10th Anniversary and the 2024 Somerville Foundation Food Nation Celebration in Davis. The band explores jazz, funk, and fusion genres and is influenced by classics like The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, and The White Stripes, and by artists of other genres like John Scofield and Tal Wilkenfeld.
Anthony Sasongko is the piano player. He has been playing piano for 8 years, and has perfect pitch. He enjoys many different music styles and artists, such as Katy Perry, Drake, One Direction, swing jazz and emo punk rock.
Colin plays guitar and sings in the band. Influenced by classic guitarists like Jimmy Paige, David Gilmour, Mark Knopfler, and Stevie Ray Vaughn, he plays both clean and distorted tones. He also writes his own music, and released a solo album in September of 2024 on all platforms.
He is the drummer for the band. He is influenced by drummers such as Vinnie Colaiuta, Chad Wackerman, and Dave Weckl. He is exploring different genres and meters on his own and with his teacher. He has been playing for 4 years and is planning on playing for many more.
Torin is the bassist for the band. He also plays the trumpet and the piano, but his main instrument is bass. He has played bass for 3 years, and is inspired by artists such as James Jamerson and Marvin Gaye.
Sam is the newest member of the band. He joined in winter of 2024. As a classically trained guitarist of over ten years, he has many influences coming from classical, blues, rock, finger-style, and jazz. He is also a solo street performer.
